Description

Elm Cottage is a timber-framed house dating from the 17th to 18th century. The timber framing and plaster infilling are still visible on the ground floor of the west wall, while the upper part is tile hung. The front of the house has been rebuilt in red brick. It features a tiled roof with a half hip at the western end, a stack located west of center, and a smaller stack at the eastern end. The cottage has casement windows and is two stories tall with four windows. There is a modern brick porch with a tiled gabled roof and a modern door. A photograph of the cottage is available in the National Monuments Record.
