Description
York House is a house dating from the 16th century, with early 19th century extensions on the right. The building features a timber frame, although part of the frame has been removed and rebuilt in red brick across the front, with brick cladding and infill at the rear. The extension has incised render cladding. The roof is plain tiled with a catslide across the rear. The house has an L-shaped plan and stands two storeys high, with a large ridge stack on the left and a central stack on the extension to the right. The older section has irregular casement windows, with one window on the first floor and two below. The extension has regular fenestration, with two windows on each floor. There is a planked door located at the re-entrant angle. Inside, the framing is visible, having been cut into on the ground floor, and ceiling beams are also visible on the ground floor, with some windbracing seen on the first floor.
