Description
Chapel Cottage and the adjoining cottage are 17th-century cottages that have been significantly extended at the rear right. The right end is timber framed, with exposed timber and brick infill below and galleted sandstone rubble above. The central left section features sandstone rubble cladding with brick dressings, while the left end is constructed of brick. The cottages have plain tiled roofs, with an oversailing gable on the rear extension to the right of center. They are two storeys high and have a large ridge stack positioned to the right of center, topped with a corbelled design.
On the first floor, there are five windows, including one dormer window that is set through the eaves and has a gabled roof. The ground floor also has five windows, one of which is located to the left under a cambered arch. There is a door to the left of center that is sheltered by a gabled half open porch. Additionally, there is another door on the right-hand return front, which is in a gabled porch and features a tile-hung gable with sandstone extensions to the right.
