Description
The entrance walls and gates to Hopedene Lodge date from the late 19th century, around 1873, and are likely designed by Richard Norman Shaw. They are constructed of red brick with stone dressings and feature wrought iron gates. The design includes a concave semi-circle plan with square end piers set on stone plinths. The walls have stone cornice coping, and the piers are topped with sphere finials. The wrought iron gates are elaborately scrolled with foliage decoration and have panelled standards. This structure is included for its group value.
