Description
This outbuilding, likely a former fodder store and mixing house for the attached stables, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble and features a gabled stone slate roof with brick ridge stacks. The building has a three-unit plan and is a single storey high. The front has a blocked central double entry and 20th-century windows, while two stable doors face the stable yard at the rear. Inside, there is some reset 17th-century panelling and a doorway leading to the large stable block to the north. Additionally, there is approximately 30 metres of stone-coped limestone rubble wall with mid-19th century gatepiers and gates to the left (west). Rousham Park, where this building is located, is listed in the Historic Buildings and Monuments Commission Register of Parks and Gardens at Grade I.
