Description
This chest tomb, located in the churchyard of St. Mary's, dates from the 19th century and is situated approximately 25 meters southeast of the south transept. It commemorates John Busby, who died in 1800, as well as William Pryor, who passed away in 1862, and Elizabeth Pryor, who died in 1851. The tomb is made of limestone ashlar and features a moulded base and top, with oval inscription panels. The north and south panels are flanked by pilasters. The inscription for John Busby includes carved foliage sprays in the spandrels and carved foliage drops on the pilasters.
