Description
Mead House, formerly known as Taynton Farmhouse, is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the early 19th century, with some 20th-century modifications. The building is constructed of stone ashlar and features a stone slate roof, with 20th-century stone end stacks. It is two stories high and has a three-window range. The central entrance includes a six-panel door with an overlight, topped by a stone hood with an open pediment supported by stone brackets. The ground floor has 20th-century twelve-pane horned sash windows on the left and right. There is a flat stone band between the ground and first floors, and the first floor also has 20th-century twelve-pane horned sash windows. A flat stone band runs along the eaves. The interior has not been inspected but is noted to have some 20th-century alterations. The building is shown on the Ordnance Survey map as Garnes Farm.
