Description

Common Farm Cottage is a house dating from the early 19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of uncoursed limestone rubble and features stone slate roofs. The building has two storeys. The main range includes horned glazing bar sash windows with wooden lintels on either side of a central entrance. The entrance consists of a flush six-panel door topped with a rectangular barred overlight, all set within a pedimented pilastered doorcase that has panelled reveals. There are integral end stacks with red brick shafts. Attached to the right is a lower range, possibly older, with a steep-pitched roof that has a group of four 19th-century casement windows beneath a continuous wooden lintel.
