Description

This barn, located approximately 30 meters west of Fifield House, dates from the late 18th century and has undergone some later alterations. It is constructed from roughly coursed limestone rubble and features a half-hipped stone slate roof. The south side has wide opposing plank double doors, with stone lean-tos on either side facing the farmyard. Inside, the barn has a collar and tie beam roof supported by five bays, with double butt-purlins and 20th-century struts between the tie beams and collars. There is an inserted loft in the two right bays. The barn is included for its group value.
