Description

Tudor Cottage is a house, originally two cottages, dating from the 17th century, with an extension added in 1837. The rear of the building displays timber framing of three panels deep. The front and right side walls are of mid-19th century brick, while the left extension is constructed of coursed limestone rubble. The roof is thatched and half-hipped, with a 19th-century brick ridge stack. The house has a one and a half-storey plan with a two-window front. A segmental brick arch features over a blocked doorway, and a widened opening contains a three-light casement window from the 19th century. A similar casement window is located to the right, along with a two-light half-dormer casement in the attic. A 20th-century brick outshut extends from the left side and rear. The interior includes chamfered beams and original purlins. An open fireplace was remodelled in the mid-19th century.
