Description
The Thatch Cottage is a building that originally served as two dwellings, now functioning as a house. It dates from the early 18th century, with an extension from the early 19th century on the right side. The structure is made of coursed limestone rubble, featuring brick quoins and dressings on the right. It has a half-hipped thatch roof, with a ridge stack that has been finished in 20th-century brick. The cottage has been extended from a two-unit to a three-unit plan and consists of one storey and an attic, with a one-window range.
To the left, there is a chamfered timber lintel above a 20th-century plank door. To the right, another 20th-century door is situated next to a 20th-century square bay window, which is in front of an old doorway. Inside, the cottage features stop-chamfered beams and a bressumer over an open fireplace to the left.
