Description
Gardners Cottage and Rose Cottage is a house that dates from the mid-18th century and was remodeled in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble with brick stacks. The original layout of the building is unclear. The house has two storeys and features a three-window range. There is a semi-circular arch over a central blocked door with a window, and semi-circular arches over three-light leaded casements, except for a 20th-century casement on the right. A projecting storey band is present, and the roof is hipped with lateral stacks on the right side and at the rear. On the right side, there is a canted bay window from around 1850, which has stone mullioned and transomed cavetto-moulded windows, with similar two-light windows above. The left side wall features a hood mould over a two-light stone mullioned cavetto-moulded cross window. There are 20th-century entries in the extensions at the rear. The interior has not been inspected.
