Description

College Farmhouse is a 17th-century farmhouse, later adapted for residential use. It is likely constructed on a timber frame, with a render finish, although some timber framing is still visible. The roof is a complex half-hipped design covered in plain tiles, with a brick ridge stack in the centre and a 19th-century brick end stack on the addition to the right. The original plan was probably a two-unit lobby-entry configuration, with a later cross-wing added. The farmhouse is single-storey with an attic, featuring a two-window front. A plank door leads to a lean-to porch on the left return of the cross-wing. The windows are irregular casements, and a gabled dormer is present on the cross-wing. Further timber framing is visible on the right return and the rear of the building. Internally, there is an open fireplace on the ground floor to the right.
