Description

No. 7, Abbey Close is an early 18th-century building of two storeys. The construction incorporates a rubble plinth and chequered brickwork. There are two hipped dormers and two light casement windows. The roof is covered with hipped tiles, and it features a wooden eaves cornice. The front of the building has two windows with modern four-light casements in wooden frames. A narrow brick band separates the ground and first floors. Two ground floor windows either side of a six-panel door; the door has a rectangular fanlight and a semi-circular hood supported by carved console brackets. To the side is a three-light window with modern leaded casements. A right-hand extension has a gable facing the road, with a rubble base and chequered brickwork, as well as a brick band between the floors. Nos. 7 to 11, Abbey Close form a group.
