Description
The John Barley Corn Public House and Wey Cottage are a public house and cottage, probably dating from the early 18th century, with alterations in the 19th century. The public house is built of roughcast, likely over brick, with a slate roof and a brick ridge stack to the right of the centre. It is a single-storey building with an attic, and has a lobby entry plan. The front features a 3-window range, with plank doors to the left and right of centre, and 3-light casement windows with shutters to the left, centre, and right. There are 3 raking dormers. Some timber framing remains visible internally. To the left is a probable 19th-century cottage, also single-storey with an attic, and featuring a 2-window range. This cottage has a plank door to the right, two 3-light casement windows with shutters, and two raking dormers. It has a brick centre stack and an end stack to the right.
