Description
Whitchurch House is a building that has been divided into four houses. It dates from the early 18th century, with likely late 18th-century additions on both sides and 20th-century alterations to the rear. The exterior is rendered, probably over brick, and it features a slate roof with brick stacks.
The house is two stories tall and has an 11-window range arranged in a 2:5:4 pattern. The central five-window section includes a six-panel door with an overlight, flanked by Doric pilasters that support a pediment. There is a cross-window on the ground floor, and a flat band runs between the ground and first floors. The first floor has five 12-pane sashes with segmental tops. The roof has a flat band and a panelled parapet.
To the left, there is a two-window range with a six-panel door leading to the basement, which has an arched hood. This side features 12-pane sashes on both the ground and first floors, with segmental heads on the first-floor windows. To the right, there is a four-window range with a six-panel door and a light above, flanked by Doric pilasters supporting a pediment. This side has three 16-pane sashes on the ground floor and four 12-pane sashes on the first floor. The interior has not been inspected.
