Description

Yew Tree Cottage is a 17th-century cottage with a 18th-century front, located on the west side of Whitchurch High Street. The cottage is constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, distinguished by flared brick headers. It has a plain tile roof and brick stacks. The building follows a baffle-entry plan, and is single-storey with an attic, originally featuring a two-window front. The central entrance is a four-panel door, sheltered by a lattice porch. There are two-light casement windows to the left and right, each with segmental brick arched heads. Two gabled half-dormers light the attic space. The roof is half-hipped, with a central brick ridge stack dating to the 17th century, and a 19th-century brick stack to the right. The interior of the cottage was not inspected as part of the listing process.
