Description
Lobb Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with a datestone indicating 1838. It is constructed from limestone rubble with ashlar quoins and some brick dressings, topped with a Welsh slate roof and brick stacks. The building has a double-depth plan and stands two storeys high.
The front of the house features three windows, with a six-panel door located to the right of center, flanked by large sashes that are four panes wide and five panes high, all adorned with stone flat arches. To the left, there is a bay that likely dates from the 18th century, featuring 12-pane sashes with brick dressings at the lower levels. A 19th-century trelliswork porch is partially cased in rubble, and a datestone is positioned above the door. The roof is hipped with a very shallow pitch.
The left return wall and the rear of the house include 16-pane sashes, while the rear has three storeys with wide 24-pane sashes on the first floor. There is also a single-storey rear wing made of rubble and brick, which contains a three-light Gothick casement. Inside, there is a late 18th-century or early 19th-century staircase featuring turned balusters.
