Description

Newnham House is a house likely dating to the late 18th century, with additions to the rear in the 19th century. It is constructed of grey brick with red brick detailing, and has a slate roof and brick stacks. The house has three storeys and a five-window front. A central, square brick porch of the 19th century features a four-centred arch with a hood mould on each side and a battlemented parapet. The porch contains a double part-glazed door. The ground and first floors have 12-pane sash windows, while the second floor has 9-pane sash windows. Brick bands separate the ground and first floors, and the first and second floors. A stone cornice runs along the top of the building. The roof has a parapet with a cross-gable on the left and right, and a blind panel in the centre. A doorway on the left side has a pediment above the blind panel, which displays an armorial bearing. The interior has not been inspected.
