Description
The Bell Inn is an inn that dates back to the 17th century, with a cross wing likely added in the 18th century and some alterations made in the 20th century. The building is rendered, probably on brick, and features a plain tile roof with brick stacks. It has two storeys and an attic, with a five-window range.
The entrance is a central 20th-century part-glazed door, with a 20th-century wooden casement window to the left. There are three 2-light wooden casement windows to the left and a single 2-light wooden casement window to the right of the centre. A 19th-century three-light metal casement window is located to the right of the centre, and another 19th-century three-light metal casement window is found in the cross wing to the right. A flat roof extends from the door to the cross wing, situated between the ground and first floor.
On the first floor to the left, there are two 20th-century wooden 2-light casement windows, while three 19th-century metal three-light casement windows are positioned in the centre and to the right. The roof has a half-hipped design with a cross gable to the right, which features what is probably false timber framing and a single leaded light. The inn also has ridge stacks and a moulded spine beam in the saloon bar.
