Description
The Pannels is a house located on Church Street in North Moreton. The building dates from the 16th century at the rear, with a mid-17th century addition to the right and a 19th century addition to the left, along with various alterations. It is constructed of painted brick and features an old plain-tile roof, with a brick stack at the left end and a ridge stack at the rear right. The house has a complex plan, standing two storeys to the right and single storey with an attic to the left, and it has a three-window range. There is a six-panel door to the left and irregular fenestration consisting mostly of 19th century wood casements with segmental brick heads. A dentil course is present at the eaves on the right side. The left side has a 20th century flat-roofed full dormer. Inside, there is a straight flight staircase and a possible full-cruck frame visible in the kitchen and bedroom at the rear right. The right side features a queen-post roof, and there is an open fireplace with stone bases on the sides in the ground floor right room. The ground floor and rear have chamfered spine beams, and some 17th and 18th century doors can be found in various rooms.
