Description
No. 12 Norman Avenue is a house built around the 1890s, showcasing an eclectic late Victorian style. It is constructed of red brick with moulded brick and terracotta dressings, topped with a clay tile roof. The roof features a moulded brick pedimental gable end adorned with brick modillions and corbelled brick eaves, and there is a brick stack on the side.
The house has a double-depth plan, with the entrance and stair hall located on the left and the drawing room on the right, while the dining room and service wing are situated behind. The exterior is two storeys high with an attic and presents a three-bay front. The ground floor features a doorway on the left, framed by brick pilasters and a moulded brick pediment, leading to a panelled door with an overlight. To the right, there is a brick canted bay with moulded brick cambered arches, a bracketed cill, and a moulded brick cornice. The first floor has three windows, with brick pilasters and a terracotta frieze above. The large moulded brick pedimental gable includes brick modillions and two small round-headed attic windows in the central panel. The ground floor windows are 4-pane sashes without glazing bars. The interior has not been inspected.
