Description

East and West Cottage is a house, likely dating from the early 18th century, which has since been divided into two separate dwellings. The property is constructed of red brick with grey brick headers in a Flemish bond pattern, and has a plain-tile roof. A brick chimney stack is located to the right of the centre of the ridge. The house follows a lobby entry plan. It is two storeys high with a three-window front. A plank door is positioned to the right of the centre, covered by a flat hood. A four-panel door is located to the left of centre, also with a flat hood. The ground floor windows are three-light wooden casements, positioned to the left, centre and right. The first floor has three, three-light wood casements with leaded glass. A dentil cornice runs along the eaves. The left-hand return side reveals timber framing with brick infill, and includes a queen post roof truss. The interior was not inspected.
