Description

Rose Cottage is a small house dating from the early 18th century, located on the south side of High Street, Beckley. Constructed of limestone rubble with squared dressings, it features a thatched roof and brick gable stacks. The original 2-unit plan is evident in the layout. The single-storey structure has one storey plus attics, and a two-window front. A blocked doorway is positioned to the left of centre, flanked by three-light leaded casement windows, all with stone flat arches. Two two-light leaded dormers light the attic space. A single-storey wing, built of rubble and tiled, now provides the entrance on the left-hand side. A gable outshut is situated to the right. The interior remains uninspected.
