Description

No 2 on North Street is an 18th-century building featuring silver grey brick walls, complemented by a red brick plinth and strips that frame the windows. The window arches are made of rubbed red brick. It has a moulded, coved wood cornice and an old tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high and has six windows, which are sashes with glazing bars. The door is adorned with a moulded architrave surround, plain brackets, and a small, moulded cornice. The eastern end of the building was remodeled in the 19th century, showcasing a Flemish style gable and forming a return to Kings' Road. Nos 2 to 16 (even) create a group with the pavement in front of them and with the building opposite Nos 6 and 8.
