Description

Two small houses, likely dating from the 17th century and altered subsequently. They are constructed of limestone rubble, partly coursed, with timber lintels and some blue-brick quoins. The roofs are thatched with brick stacks. The houses have single- or two-unit plans, with added rear outshuts. The two-storey front has three windows, with three 2-light dormers in the attic. Plank doors are located between three 2-light casement windows. A blue-brick quoined door and right-hand window are visible on No. 2, while the left bay (No. 3) is of coursed rubble and likely an 18th-century addition. A Sun Insurance plaque is above the doorway of No. 3. The right gable wall shows evidence of an earlier roof line at a lower level and a blocked doorway. The interiors were not inspected. It is thought that the houses may have originally been a single dwelling.
