Description

St John's College Senior Common Room is located in the North Quadrangle and was built in 1676 by the mason Bartholomew Peisley. The room features late 17th century panelling, a fireplace, and a plaster ceiling created by Thomas Roberts in 1742. An addition, now known as the inner common room, was made to the north in 1826, possibly designed by Daniel Robertson, with a ceiling designed by "Mr" Grace. A smoking room was added further north in 1900 and was remodeled in 1936.
