Description
St Bartholomew's Farmhouse is a 16th-century building located on Cowley Road. The main block is two stories high and constructed of roughcast rubble, featuring three sections of varying heights and a stone slate roof that includes an attic dormer. The farmhouse has cellars and a stone-based eaved stack, along with modern brick stacks. The windows are casement style. An early 19th-century trellis porch is present, and above it, on the south side, there is a 17th-century three-light wood mullioned window. The rear of the building has two modern dormers and a modern porch. Historically, this farmhouse, along with the house to the north of St Bartholomew's Chapel, likely formed part of St Bartholomew's Hospital, which was originally established by Henry I.
