Description

Osney Abbey is an Augustinian Priory founded in 1129. Most of the original buildings have been destroyed, but a rubble and timber-framed structure remains, which may date from the 15th century. This structure features a queenpost roof, possibly from the 16th century, and has a blocked 2-light window. Attached to it on the northeast is a stone archway from the 15th century, characterized by a four-centred head and moulded jambs. There is also a commemorative plaque honoring Haggai of Oxford, who was martyred in 1222.
