Description
The Dog and Gun Public House is an 18th-century public house with later alterations, located on North Bar Street in Banbury. It is constructed from regularly coursed ironstone rubble and features a Welsh slate roof with brick ridge and end stacks. The building has two storeys and a five-window range, with two entrances. To the left, there is a four-panelled door with a wooden lintel, flanked by a 20th-century window and a bay window. The central carriage entrance has renewed plank doors and an encased wooden lintel. To the right, there is a 20th-century sash window and another bay window. The first floor has five windows, including three wood mullioned and transomed windows and two casements, all with wooden lintels. Four of the windows have 20th-century shutters. The interior is noted for having cased beams.
