Description
The wall and outhouse attached to Church Cottage were built around 1846-1848, likely by R C Hussey. They are made of Wealden sandstone with Caen stone dressings and have a plain tiled roof.
The wall is approximately four feet high and features moulded coping. It serves as the churchyard wall, extending from a squat pier to the north of the shed, running about 50 metres to the south, and ending in another low pier next to the lychgate.
The shed has a boarded door facing south into the garden of Church Cottage, and it includes a double chamfered segmental pointed arched doorway leading to the churchyard on the gable end of the structure. The gable also features a cusped cinquefoil, giving it the character of an "ecclesiastical tool-shed" as noted in the Buildings of England, Kent.
