Description

A late 18th or early 19th century cart shed with a granary above, situated approximately 10 metres north of Hale Farmhouse. The building is constructed of red brick to the first floor, with timber framing and weatherboarding above, and has a peg-tile roof. It faces north, with an open-fronted cart shed at ground floor level and a granary above. The ground floor cart shed has an open arcade of plain posts with straight bracing to the first-floor beam. The first floor is weatherboarded and features a central loading hatch doorway flanked by shuttered windows. The roof is half-hipped at both ends. Rear lean-to outshots are present. A window with a trellis of wooden strips is set into the west end wall of the right-hand outshot. The interior has not been inspected. This building forms part of a group that includes Hale Farmhouse, Tudeley Hall, and their associated agricultural buildings.
