Description
The garden walls located approximately 2 meters east of Stone Castle Farmhouse date from the mid to late 19th century. They are constructed from brownish red brick, primarily laid in stretcher bond. These tall walls enclose the north and east sides of the garden adjacent to the farmhouse. In the north-east corner, there is a small square-plan summerhouse featuring an original three-light window with a timber frame and margin glazing bars, set under a low segmental arch, along with a smaller single light on the east side. A doorway is located on the west side of the summerhouse, which has a stucco frieze decorated with lozenge motifs beneath a moulded timber eaves cornice that includes a dentil frieze. The summerhouse is topped with a pyramid roof covered in peg tiles. The walls are accented with external flat pilaster-like buttresses, and the north wall rises to a higher level in the middle. The west end of the wall facing the farmhouse has been altered in the 20th century.
