Description

The gate piers and flanking walls, located approximately 15 metres north-west of The Lodge, serve as the entrance to the drive leading to Burrswood House and date from around 1838. They are constructed from snecked rock-faced sandstone with ashlar coping. The gate piers are relatively low, square in shape, and topped with rounded pyramid caps, positioned on either side of the drive and set back from the street. The walls curve irregularly towards the terminal piers at the street. These features enhance the character of this remarkably unspoilt estate village.
