Description

Bedford Terrace comprises a row of ten small houses built in the early 19th century. The terrace is three storeys high, with basements, and constructed of red brick, featuring an eaves cornice. Each house has two sash windows on each floor, with original glazing bars intact. Curved bay windows are present on the ground floor of each house. Numbers 2 to 10 form a group, connected by pavement. Modern shop fronts have been added to numbers 2 and 10. Area railings are visible at numbers 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Bedford Terrace served as the original location for the Town Improvement Commission, established by an Act of Parliament in 1835.
