Description
Hawthorns Roundabouts consists of two houses that were formerly one, likely built in the 18th century or earlier, with later alterations and additions. The structure is framed on brick footings and features tile-hung walls with dark brown tiles, along with a peg-tile roof and brick stacks.
The main range faces south towards the road and has an approximately central entrance, with rooms heated from end stacks. To the left, Hawthorns has a rear left wing at right angles, also heated from an end stack. To the right, Roundabouts includes a block from the 20th century that is set back from the main range. The details of the plan are unclear as the interior was not inspected.
The exterior is two storeys high with an asymmetrical four-window front. The main range has a hipped roof and projecting end stacks with tile-hung set-offs. A 20th-century front door is located slightly to the right of centre. The first floor features four small-pane casement windows, while the ground floor has three such windows, which date from the 19th or 20th century. The north west wing of Hawthorns has three windows, with tile-hung walls on the first floor and brick on the ground floor. The rear elevation was not inspected.
The interior has not been inspected but may hold interesting features.
