Description

The Downman Monument, located approximately 15 metres south of the Honywood Monument at the Parish Church of St Mary the Virgin, is an early 19th-century chest tomb. It features a stone base with a moulded stone plinth. The square chest is adorned with a sunray design at the corners, reeded bands with paterae, and a moulded cornice. The tomb is topped with a pyramidal roof that includes antefiscae.
