Description
The building is a barn located to the east of Yotes Court, dating from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of red brick on a wide plinth made of coursed stone blocks. The barn features plat bands above both the ground floor and first floor, and it has a plain tiled roof topped with an 18th-century cupola. The structure is two storeys high and has three windows. The windows are framed by thick banded, rendered and painted surrounds, complete with keystones, and the barn has triple casements with heavy mullions.
There is a contemporary extension to the east, which has a front elevation made of 19th-century red and grey brick. This extension also has a plain tiled roof and a cornice-band at the level of the first-floor plat band of the adjoining block. At this same level, the lawn area was historically used as an oast-house, featuring three squares in the roof that were originally for oast-cowls, along with various door openings on the north side. The barn consists of six bays and has a lath and plaster wall on the north side internally, with some jowled posts.
