Description
Shode House is a house that originated in the 16th century with a timber-framed section on the east side, which was later extended to the west around 1850. The eastern part features a ground floor made of coursed, galletted rubble, with timber framing above that includes plaster infilling and some curved bracing. The roof is plain tiled and hipped to the east. The house has two storeys and one window with casements. The entrance, located in the rear extension to the east, has a modern flat hood supported by brackets. The western extension, built around 1850, is constructed of red and grey brick in a chequer pattern using rat trap bond. It also has a hipped plain tiled roof, two storeys, and one window with glazing bar sashes set in segment-head surrounds.
