Description
St Leonard's House is an early 19th-century house located at right angles to the road in West Malling. The building is rendered and features a hipped slate roof. It has two storeys and five windows, with sash windows and a round-headed window at the center of the first floor. The central entrance consists of a panelled door, which is accessed by three steps, and is flanked by top lights and a rectangular fanlight. This door is set within a panelled pilastered doorcase that has a flat projecting hood. The pilasters are adorned with diamond-shaped panelled capitals, and there is a diaper frieze beneath the hood. The eaves of the elevation are very slender with a wide overhang. The gutter is lead flashed and features a timber fascia, which is faced with an ogee timber moulding, with lead dressed over the top edge.
There is an additional two-storey structure at right angles to the main building, running parallel with the road. This section has three windows, also with sliding sashes, and the central ground floor window likely serves as a built-out doorcase. The property is enclosed by wrought-iron spear railings, with a gate located in the center.
