Description

An early 19th century pair of buildings located on Hawley Square. The buildings are constructed of brown brick with a stone coping, and extend over four storeys plus a basement. They feature four windows each, with one window blanked. No. 6 has casement windows, while No. 5 has sash windows. A noteworthy feature of No. 5 is its wooden balcony with a hood. A shared doorcase with porches connects the two buildings, topped by a joint entablature. The doorcases include rectangular fanlights, Tuscan columns and six-panelled doors. Buildings Nos. 4 to 6 form a group, and were formerly Holy Trinity Hall and a Methodist Chapel; as do buildings numbered 12 to 16A.
