Description

The Royal Sea Bathing Hospital Mortuary, built around 1880 and likely designed by James Knowles Jnr, is a single-storey structure made of red brick with stone dressings. The roof is not visible due to a stone-coped brick parapet. The building has a rectangular plan and features an entrance with a stone ogee hoodmould. Above this entrance is a lancet window with a pointed, moulded hood, set beneath a stone-coped stepped gable. The right side of the building includes buttresses and two small traceried windows, along with a round-arched subsidiary entrance.
