Description

Nos 31 and 33 on High Street in Sittingbourne are a former part of the George Inn. This timber-framed building was refronted with red brick around 1730 and has two storeys with a hipped tiled roof. The first floor features six sash windows and one window space, with some original glazing bars still intact. The ground floor has modern shop fronts and includes a carriage archway between them. The timber framing is visible at the back of the building, where part of the first floor is jettied. Nos 23 to 45 (odd) and 49 to 81 (odd) form a group with this building.
