Description
Nos 15 to 17 on West Street is a 17th-century timber-framed building that was refronted in the 18th century. It features an overhang on the first floor supported by a bressummer and one bracket. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with five windows and three dormers. The ground floor is finished in painted brick, with a 19th-century shop window in both Nos 15 and 17. The first floor is stuccoed, and there is an eaves cornice. The roofs are tiled. Notably, No 17 retains an original four-light bay window on the first floor, which has a wooden frame with wooden mullions, a trace of a cove beneath, and casement windows that once had small square leaded panes. The other first-floor windows are sash windows, although their glazing bars are missing.
