Description
No 20 on West Street is an 18th-century house that has been divided into two separate residences. The building has two storeys and an attic, featuring three windows and two dormers. There is also an extension to the east, which has two storeys and two windows but is of a lower elevation. The exterior is finished in painted brick, and there is a wooden modillion eaves cornice on the west side. The roofs are hipped and tiled, and the glazing bars are intact. The entrance includes a round-headed doorway with a semi-circular fanlight above a six-panel door. On the ground floor, there are segmental-headed windows on the right side, while the left side has a modern window. It is important to note that No 19, which is adjacent, is part of the Swale Rural District Council Offices but is a 19th-century building and does not qualify for listing.
