Description
Church House, located on the north side of High Street in Queenborough, is a building dating from around 1700. It is constructed of red brick and features two storeys, a basement, and attics. The roof is adorned with two cambered dormers and has plain eaves, along with a brick band. The façade includes five sash windows set in exposed sash frames with original glazing bars, and there are rubbed brick headers above the windows. Additionally, there are two small basement windows.
The central entrance is framed by a doorcase with fine fluted pilasters, a moulded architrave, an ornamented soffit, and an entablature featuring a triglyph frieze. The reveals of the door are panelled, and above the door is a fanlight with circular tracery ornament. Inside, there are six fielded panelled doors. It is said that the building once belonged to Lady Hamilton.
