Description
Gushmere Court is a house that originated in the 16th century and was clad in the 17th century, with extensions added in the late 19th century. It features a timber frame that is clad and infilled with red brick in English bond, and it has been further extended with red brick. The roof is plain tiled. The original layout was an L-shaped lobby entry plan, which has been significantly extended.
The house is two storeys high and has a projecting hipped two-storey porch on the centre left, along with a projecting hipped wing on the right. The ground floor also projects, featuring a wooden balustrade above it. The roof is hipped, with a cluster of stacks on the centre left and an additional stack on the right. There are two oversailing rear hip ends.
On the first floor, there are three tripartite sash windows and one sash window in the porch. The ground floor has one tripartite sash window, a four-light plate glass window, and another sash window. The porch has a half-glazed door and the entry features a semi-circular arch on imposts. The left side of the building shows the exposed frame.
