Description
North Court Farmhouse is a manor house that has been converted into two houses. It dates from the 15th century and was altered in the early 19th century. The building is timber framed and rendered, topped with a plain tiled roof, and features brick and tile hung additions at the rear. It stands two storeys high and has a jettied section to the right supported by dragon posts. The roof is hipped with gablets and has a central stack on the left. There are two projecting two-storey canted bay windows on the left and right, each capped with octagonal rooflets. Each bay contains three glazing bar sashes on both floors, while the central first floor has two glazing bar sashes, and there is a segmental bay window to the right below the jetty. The central entrance features a plank and stud door with a glazed fanlight. Inside, there are early 19th-century fittings and a staircase with a curved handrail, along with a crown post roof. This building was once the chief manor house of Eastling.
