Description
The ornamental screen across the river to the northeast of the bridge is an 18th-century decorative landscape feature, possibly used as a cattle trap. It consists of three segmental arches made of rusticated red brick and flints, with brick and flint piers at each end and pointed brick cutwaters positioned between the arches. Above the arches, there are two courses of flints set into the brickwork, topped with a curved brick coping.
