Description
The gazebo and attached archways located to the north-east of Franks Hall date from the 16th and 17th centuries but were altered in the 19th century. The gazebo is a small, square, two-storey building accessed at first floor level from the terrace or lawn on its west side. It features a façade of knapped flints with stone quoins and has a wide 19th-century wooden modillion eaves cornice beneath a hipped tiled roof. On the ground floor of the north front, there is a stone doorway, along with another doorway at the north-east angle. The first floor of the north and east fronts contains an original window with a cement-coated brick mullion and surround. The windows on the south and west fronts have been modified in the 19th century. Attached to the south-east is a red brick archway flanked by pilasters, topped with a curved pediment that displays the date 1689, although the brickwork appears modern. This archway was relocated from another position in front of the house. Additionally, there is a flint and stone archway with a four-centred arch to the south-east, featuring modern stone finials.
